George was a Revolutionary War Soldier, receiving two grants of land inWestern North Carolina (now the state of Tennessee) for his service,which he claimed circa 1785-1788. The 2500 acre grants were staked out inthe Farmington area of Bedford County (later Marshall County and at KnobCreek in Maury County, Tennessee.
