Richard had a two acre house lot in Rowley in 1643.  He sold his estate in Rowley in 1651 to Capt John Johnson and moved to Newbury with his wife.  He purchased a 400 acre farm in Newbury from Mathew Chaffey of Boston for LL 155.  (Essex Deed, 1 Ips:100).  He had a grant of land by the colony in 1653 and the next year built a toll bridge over the Parker River.  Gage's History lists his date of death as 26 Nov 1703.  A One Name Study on the Thorley name is being run by David Weston - weston@@ns.sympatico.ca It can be found at http://www.one-name.org
