Hannaniah was born about 1645 in London,Middlesex,England. Hannaniah's father was William Gifford and his mother was Patience Russell. His paternal grandparents were Phillip Gifford and Mary Turner; his maternal grandfather was William Russell. He was an only child. He died in 1709 in Manasquan,Shrewsbury Township,Monmouth Co.,NJ.
Hannaniah and Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony in 1672 in Sandwich,Barnstable Co.,MA. They had a son named William.
