REF: Neville Gedcom: Alexander was consecreted Archbishop of York in 1374. He was deprived of that office in 1388 through the efforts of his enemies and fled to Rome. He died in Louvain in May 1394 and was buried in the Church of the Carmelites. A tablet near the west door of York Cathedral states that Alexander was the 45th Archbishop of York from 1374 until 1388.
