Greensburg-Jessie E. Durden 87, died in Deland, Fla. on February 7, 1991,
following a short illness.
Mrs. Durden was born in Camden-On-Gaulry, West Virginia. She moved to
Akron in 1924 and to Green Township in 1956. She was an active member of
the South Arlington United Methodist Church since 1925, having served the
Church as a Trustee, board member, and Ladies Society Circle Leader.
Preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann and her husband, William
Frank; she is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Cecil E. (Barbara) Murphy of
Wooster and her son, John of Deland. Other surviving family members are
three grandchildren, Debra Kesling of Green Twp., richard and C.R. Murphy
of Wooster; seven great-granchildren and one great-great grandson.
There are no calling hours. Services will be held on Tuesday, Feburary 12
at 1:30p.m., at Hopkins-Lawyer UNIONTOWN Funeral Home, 3353 Northdale st.
(one block N.W. of the square 619 and Cleveland Ave.) Rev Don Bryant
officiating. Burial will be in teh Hillside Memorial Park, Memorials may
be made to the South Arlington United Methodist Church, 790 S. Arlington
St., Akron 44306.
