Sep., 5, 1935, The St. Clair Times: Barber-Patterson Funeral. A double
funeral was held Sunday afternoon at Mt. Carmel for Mrs. Dora Barber and
Jessie T. Patterson following their deaths Friday. Mrs. Barber was the
mother-in-law of Mr. Patterson.
Mrs. Barber was the widow of the late George Barber of Eden. She died
following a siege of pneumonia. She was 76. Surviving are five sons:
Louis, John, Monroe, Wylie, all of Pell City; and Marion of Anniston;
three daughters, Mrs. Graves Patterson, Mrs. Tom Windsor and Mrs. E. G
Spradley, all of Pell City.
Mr. Patterson was 54, a resident of this county all his life. His
death was attributed to heart failure. He was a carpenter by trade.
The Rev. D. F. Funderburg was in charge of the funeral service, with
Willingham directing.
