Sarah was dau. of Aaron W. Moore & Jane W. Cain. Both of her parents'
families go way back in GA.
First of all, the maiden name of Sarah's mother was Jane W. Cain. The
Jain must have been a typo.
Jane W. (Cain) Moore was my great, great aunt. She was born in Jackson
County, Georgia , on
September 23, 1813, and was the daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Waits)
Cain. She married Aaron
W. Moore in Hall County, Georgia, on January 19, 1837. Of this union
there were five children
(starting with the eldest):
Sarah E. (Ann) Moore married Joseph T. Sears
Mary Amanda Moore married David Alexander Morrow
John Keller Moore married Celia Melvin Wiggley
Winfield Scott Moore married Martha Jane Carroll
Zachariah F. Moore
I have received unconfirmed information that Jane died shortly after the
birth of Zachariah. In my research on Jane, I could not find her and
Aaron in the 1850 Georgia Census. I did find where Aaron married the
second time in Hall County to Mary M. Liles on February 18, 1858. Jane's
father died in 1853 without leaving a will. In 1854, when Joseph's estate
was finally settled, Aaron sign for his share in or on behalf of his wife
Jane W. (Cain) Moore. The way estates were settled back in those days, I
could not make a determination if Jane was still alive at that point in
time. I have tried for a long time in trying to find out when and where
she died and where she is buried. Aaron and his second wife are buried in
Popular Springs Baptist Church Cemetery located in Hall County.
