ARTHUR HILDRED "HILL" CORLEY
1924-2001
Arthur H. "Hill" Corley, 77, of Cantonment, died Sunday, October 21, 2001
in a local hospital.
Mr. Corley was born April 28, 1924 in Muscogee, Fla. and was a lifelong
resident of Escambia County.
Mr. Corley was retired from St. Regis Paper Company. He was an active
member of the Farm Hill Baptist Church, the VFW, DAV, and served with
honor in North Africa and Italy in World War II with the U.S. Army.
He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and fellow church
members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everette and Charlotte "Lottie"
Corley; and a brother, George L. Corley.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Elizabeth; daughter and
son-in-law. Rebecca "Becky" and Ronald Blake; son and daughter-in-law,
Arthur and Cynthia Corley; three beloved grandchildren, Cacie Alexandria
Corley, Dylan Bradley Corley, and Robyn Elizabeth Blake; sister, Mabel
Cooper; two brothers and sister-in-law, Everette L. and Lily Corley and
Arthur Raymond and Vera Corley.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2001
at Faith Chapel North with the Rev. Terry Vaughn officiating.
Interment will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery with military honors.
Faith Chapel North, 1000 Hwy. 29, Cantonment, is in charge of
arrangements.
Active pallbearers will be his nephews, Kevin Beck, Dean Carlisle, Greg
Carlisle, Gary Cooper, and Ben Steagall.
Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Blackwell, Alfred Bowman, Reed
Bradley, Frank Cummings, Bennie Malone, Robert Morris, and John Thompson.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home
Tuesday, October 23, 2001.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of
Mr. Corley to the American Red Cross or charity of choice.
