CSA 49th AL Inf. Co. G. He was a private. He collected a pension and I
have a copy of a letter he wrote to a judge complaining about a delay in
payment. He can be found on the following census records: 1860 Marshall
Co., AL page 77/865, 1870 Marshall Co., AL page 183, 1880 Marshall Co.,
AL, 1900 Marshall Co., AL page 7B. 1900 lists the last of his children.

Alura Alvie Bearden b. May 1888 Marshall Co., AL d. Grant,
Marshall Co., AL m. Oliver Smith. I don't have any info on
them, but would like to.
All of these folks are supposed to be buried in a cemetery near Grant,
but none of those I spoke with could tell me it's name. When I go the
Birmingham in April, I will look for it in the Birmingham Library.
I've worked on all of Robert Holiday Bearden's children except Roland
Edward, William J., Annie Mae m. Lester Tidwell, Alvie m. Charles Ivey,
Nora Bell m. Elmer Davis, Carlon m. Lorene Ivey. I spoke with Fred's
wife either last summer or the one before. But something else intervened
and I never got back to it.
I would be glad to send you what I have and, hopefully, you can help me
with the others that I haven't gotten to as yet.
Thanks to your info, I was able to talk with the author of the book that
mentioned the Tekle/Teackle/Teakell/Tekell family. I bought a CD of GA
wills from her(it's very good) and her Fayette Co., GA will book and
another on the Old Chersaw Dist of SC. Anyway, she is going to check on
where
she got the Tekle etc info that she included in her book. When she gets
back to me, I'll let you know.
I'm just developing info on Quiller's children by Frances Fowler. At
least one with to Franklin Co, AR. In talking to an AR descendant, I
learned that Quiller visited his children in AR. I guess it's true, that
history not written is soon forgotten.
Thanks, Beve
