J.R. ABERNATHY (Joseph Robert). Born 3-23-1858 in Coosa County, the son of
Rev. Thomas Joseph and Elizabeth Abernathy; married Emma Elizabeth Duke on
8-3-1875 in Coosa County; children: Delilah (Fuller), Prescilla (Miller,
Culberson), Martha P., Susan E., Nora C. (Monroe), Thomas, Mary Viola,
Edward, Odessa D. (Miller); died 8-1-1913 and buried at Hanover Cemetery.
‌Martha Priscilla and Adolphus D. were married in a religious ceremony on January 13th, 1916 in Hanover, Coosa Co., AL.1
