Arlotta, the mother of the Conqueror, and dying before his father, John, Earl of Comyn, left two sons, Robert, Earl of Moreton, in Normandy, and Odo, bishop of Bayeux, who both accompanied their illustrious brother in his expedition against England, and were aggrandized after his triumph, Odo being created Earl of Kent, and Robert de Moreton, Earl of Cornwall.
