HUGH DE SAINT PHILIBERT in 1206 was on the King's service overseas, and bringing prisoners back to England. He joined the Barons against John, but returned to his faith and service in 1217. In 1223 he was a commissioner for sale of windfalls in Windsor Forest, and, in 1224, to guard a section of the coast. Sometime keeper of Jersey Castle. In 1230 he was in charge of shipping and transport for Henry's abortive expedition into France. He died in or before 1240. [Complete Peerage XI:364-5, (transcribed by Dave Utzinger)]

A word about the name "St. Philbert". I find numerous references to the name "St. Philibert" and "St. Philbert". As far as I can determine they are two different spellings for the same family. I find the same people spelled with either spelling. Even the original saint (died 684) that the family is presumed to be named after, I find spelled both ways.
