Hamelin was born in 1130 in Normandy, France.  Hamelin's father was Geoffrey IV Plantagenet , Comte d'Anjou and his mother was Adelaide of Angers.  His paternal grandparents were Foulques V Comte d' Anjou , King of Jerusalem and Ermengarde (Erembourg) du Maine. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named William, Henry II "Curt Mantel" King of and Emme d'.  He died at the age of 72 on May 7th, 1202 in Lewes, Sussex, England.  He was buried in Chapter House, Lewes, Sussex, England.


Hamelin's family with Isabel de Warenne , Heiress of Surrey

‌Hamelin and Isabel de were married in a religious ceremony in April 1164 in Surrey, England.  They had two sons and four daughters, named Geoffrey, William de, Ida, Maud Plantagenet de, Ela (Adela) de and Suzanne Plantagenet de.
