General Notes

Roger de Mohaut, of Elford, Co Stafford, dead 1230/1 (when his heir was Agnes de Orreby), younger son of Robert de Mohaut, of Howarden, succeeded c1141, died c1162, hereditary senschal of the Co of Chester. This Roger de Mohaut was misidentified in the early editions and in von Redlich.  He did not marry Cecily de Aubigny.  That Roger de Mohaut was his nephew. [Ancestral Roots]

The parents of Leuca were [not Roger, died 1260, & Cicely d'Aubigny, they were] another Roger de Mohaut of Hawarden, d. 1232 (when his heir was Agnes de Orreby), and his wife Nichole.  This Roger [who married Nichole] was brother of Eustace who was father of the Roger who married Cicely, and younger son of Robert de Mohaut of Hawarden, constable of Cheshire.
