Malcolm MakGill 
Malcolm was born about 1170 in Wigtown, Galloway, Scotland. Malcolm's father was Gilbert Lord of Galloway. He had a brother named Duncan Earl de. He was the younger of the two children. Malcolm is no longer alive.General Notes
Malcolm MacGil, probably son of Gilbert, (feudal) Lord of Galloway (died 1185), was ancestor of the Makgills of that Ilk and other Makgills holding lands in Galloway, Ayrshire, Fifeshire, Lanarks, the Lothians, Perths and Roxburghs. [Burke's Peerage]
