Adele of was born about 1050 in Holland. Adele of's father was Floris I de Gand Count of West Friesland and her mother was Gertrude von Saxony. Her maternal grandparents were Bernard II Duke of Saxony and Elicia von Schweinfurt. She had a brother and a sister, named Dietrich (Dirk) V Count of West and Bertha of West. She was the oldest of the three children. She had two half-sisters named Adele of and Gertrude of. She died in 1085.-
