Joan was born about 1345 in Arundel, Essex, England. Joan's father was Richard II "Copped Hat" FitzAlan , Earl Arundel and her mother was Eleanor Plantagenet. Her maternal grandparents were Henry Plantagenet , 3rd Earl of Lancaster, MP and Maud de Chaworth. She had two brothers and a sister, named Richard III, John and Alice. She was the oldest of the four children. She had a half-brother named Henry 3rd Baron de. She died on April 7th, 1419 in Saffron Walden, Essex, England.
