!BIOGRAPHY: Tradition has it that Hubertus came to England with William the
Conqueror. He was from near Colmar where his family the Counts
de la Feld trace back to the 6th Century(Pierce). Hubertus does
not appear in the Falaise Roll or the Ammended Version which
lists all the Knights who came o England with the Conqueor.
Wiatt states that Hubertus name appears as owner of land in the
county of Lancaster in 1069 while it s very possible he came
over with William but was not yet granted knighthood, but land.
