Margaret was born in 1208 in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England.  Margaret's father was Earl of Winchester Roger De Quincy Earl of Winchester and her mother was Helen De Galloway.  Her paternal grandparents were Earl of Winchester Saher "The Surety" De Quincy Earl of Winchester and Margaret De Beaumont; her maternal grandparents were Lord of Galloway Alan De Galloway Lord of Galloway and Helen of the Isles. She had two sisters named Elizabeth and Elena.  She was the oldest of the three children.  She died at the age of 50 in 1258 in Clerkenwell, England.

‌Margaret and John were married in a religious ceremony in 1223.  They had two daughters named Idonea and Maud.

‌Margaret and William V were married in a religious ceremony in 1238.  They had two sons and two daughters, named Robert, William, Joan and Agnes.
