General Notes

Maud, allegedly daughter of Sir Ralph Basset, of Drayton, Staffs. [Burke's Peerage]

Note: Burke's does not say which Ralph.  Before I had a source, I originally had John & Maud b c1258 and Maud a daughter of Ralph & Margaret Somery, but since John is b. c1268 and Maud is his 2nd wife, she is more likely to be daughter of the next generation, Ralph & Hawise de Grey.  The older Ralph died in 1265 (aged 50), so Maud could not have been born later than 1266 and still be his daughter.
