"Roos", by the way, is the less-preferred and less accurate spelling.
Thomas de Ros, 8th Lord de Ros, was born at Belvoir on 26 Sept. 1406 and
died "in the King's wars in France" on 18 Aug. 1430. He was the second son
of William de Ros, 6th Lord De Ros (c1369-1414) by Margaret, dau. of Sir
John Mautravers, Lord Mautravers, by Eleanor, Baroness Mautravers. William
was the second son of Thomas de Ros, 4th Lord de Ros (1337-1384) by
Beatrice, dau. of Ralph de Stafford, Earl Stafford, by Margaret de Audley.
This earlier Thomas was the second son of William de Ros, 2nd Lord de Ros
(-1343) by Margery, dau. of Bartholomew de Badlesmere, Lord Badlesmere, by
