Sir Alexander was born in 1166 in Luton, Hoo, Bedford, Eng. Sir Alexander's father was Robert Hoo and his mother was Rosamund Chieveron. His paternal grandparents were Robert Hoo and Milicina de Malmaynes; his maternal grandfather was Lord Thomas Chieveron. He was an only child.
