Family Notes
Ross and Amy met in Alabama, where he was stationed at Fort Rucker and she was employed as a Medical Technologist at Gibson's Hospital, in Enterprise. At the time, Ross was a Sergeant Major in the Army, having been drafted before the war began.
Ross and Amy were each quite unlike anyone either had met before. Ross was gentle and artistic; Amy was dramatic and daring. They were attracted at first sight.
They were luckier than many who married during World War II. They had a few days to honeymoon in Panama City Florida and an Easter furlough to introduce Amy to Ross's family in Salt Lake City before he was shipped off to Europe. They lived on Lee Street in Enterprise, Alabama during those blissful days before his departure.
