Sarah was born about 1765 in Of, Halifax, North Carolina.1 Sarah's father was Kindred Spears and her mother was Elizabeth Jones. Her paternal grandparents were James Spears and Elizabeth Coker; her maternal grandfather was James Jones. She had three brothers and a sister, named Willis, Nathan, William and Elizabeth. She was the oldest of the five children. She died in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1 -
