IN DECEMBER 1871 HE LEFT HIS HOUSE TO SEE A MEXICAN MAN WHO OWED HIM MONEY. HE STOPPED BY NEIGHBORING FARM AND BRAGGED ABOUT HIS SON GEORGE FRANKLIN AND SAID HE WOULD BRING HIM BY FOR THE NEIGHBOR TO SEE SOMETIME. HE LEFT THERE AND WAS NEVER SEEN AGAIN.
