1ST COUSIN OF MACBETH
King Duncan, immortalized by Shakespeare in his play MACBETH, was a young, war-minded king who ruled for a mere 6 years. He was killed in battle by his cousin MacBeth, one of his commanders. Shakespeare, of course, gave us a fictionalized version of this man--an old, wise king, murdered in his sleep.
