‌James and Mary Angeline were married in a religious ceremony in 1875 in , Hawkins, Tennessee.  They had six sons and four daughters, named Arva Dawson, Benton Mcmillan, Eddie Gideon, John Huston, Robert Thomas, Willie Hines, Beatrice, Hattie Cornelia, Lucy and Nettie Arlena.
