  THE PARIS NEWS, Fri., Oct. 17, 1997, p. 4B: 'Arnold Wallace Whatley , 86,
  of Atlanta died there Tuesday, Oct. 14, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m .
  Friday at First Baptist Church in Roxton with the Rev. Joe Srygley and
  th e Rev. Bill Coffey officiating. Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home will
  make buri al in Restland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from
  6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. He was born March 24, 1911,
  in Oklahoma to John and Evalina Myers Whatley. He married Pauline Poole
  Aug. 15, 1934. He was a Baptist and a retired master mechanic. Surviving
  are his wife; three sons, Da vid Whatley of Alba, Jerry Whatley of
  Topsfield, MA, and Christopher Whatley of Euless; and a daughter, Peggy
  Harrison of Atlanta; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. He was
  preceded in death by his parents, John and Evali na Myers Garrett Whatley,
  and a sister, Modell Miller. Pallbearers will be Ch ristopher Whatley,
  Jerry Whatley, David Whatley, Joe Harrison Jr., Jason What ley and John
  Whatley.
