Narrative
Alias:<ALIA> Thomas /Clark/

First Mate on the Mayflower. Returned to England, then came back to
America at Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1623 on the ship Anne. Settled at
Plymouth. Clark's Island, Massachusetts was named after him; he was
believed to have been the first man ashore on the island, on November 9,
1620. He was a soldier in the Pequot War, and a Member of the
Massachusetts General Court, 1651-1655. Married Sussanah Ring in 1634.
Two other marriages, to Alice (Hallet) Nichols and Elizabeth Crow. There
is a monument to him in the Plymouth Cemetery.
