DEATH INVADES CONN, KLECKNER AND ENGLE HOMES
-----
Death came Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock to Mrs. H. P. Conn, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Nims on Franklin Street, where she had been taken Saturday following a fall at her home west of town, in which she fractured her right hip. Mrs. Conn was 66 years, 2 months and 9 days of age.
Emma Uretta was born December 3, 1863, in Cass county, a daughter of E. [Edward] W. and Hester [Demoss]Welch. She came to Pulaski county when a small child and had spent her early life in the Star City vicinity, until, with her husband, they took up their residence west of town.
On March 16, 1881, she was united in marriage to Henry P. Conn, and to this union were born seven children, two of whom died in infancy.
Those surviving besides the husband, are: Four daughters, Mrs. Charles L. Zellers [Elsie Uretta Conn], Mrs. Clancy Murphy [Alma Anna CONN], Mrs. William Nims [Edna Martha CONN], of Winamac, and Mrs. C. E. [Fanny Helen] Gilger of Rochester, and one son John [John H. CONN], also of Winamac, and 5 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Martha J. [Welch] Low of Jersey City, N. J., and Mrs. Theresa B. [Welch] Noland of Kokomo.
Mrs. Conn was a member of the W. B. A. lodge and of the Presbyterian church and was active in both until ill health required her to give up. She had been in ill health for several years and the shock of the fall and fracture of the hip was more than her frail constitution could stand.
The funeral will be conducted from the Presbyterian church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with services by Rev. L. M. Krueger. Burial will be given in the Winamac cemetery.
