Obituary, The State paper, Tuesday, November 23, 1999
Thelma Shealy
Chapin - Services for Thelma (Tay) Huffstetler Shealy, 90, will be held
at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999 at Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church, with
burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from
6:30-8 tonight at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel. Memorials
may be made to Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church Building Fund.
Mrs. Shealy, widow of Carl J. (Bunk) Shealy, died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999.
Born in Chapin, she was a daughter of the late William and Cedecia Shealy
Huffstetler. She was a member of Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church and retired
from Lexington Co. Schools.
Surviving are her daughter, Dottie S. Ellett of Chapin; daughter and
son-in-law, Jeanie S. and Jesse Frick of Chapin; son, Sonny Shealy of
Chapin; son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Kathy Shealy of Newberry;
daughter-in-law, Betty S. Shealy of Irmo; sister, Ruth H. Slice of West
Columbia; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
