Jerry Windhorn
Blythewood - Funeral services for Jerry Michael Windhorn, 71, will be
held at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 1998, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church,
conducted by Pastor Harry Crout. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens of
Columbia. Visitation will be 4-6 tonight at Talbert-Shives Funeral
Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Capital Appeals Fund
at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 1301 Richland St., Columbia 29201, or to a
memorial of choice.
Mr. Windhorn died Saturday, Aug. 22, 1998. Born in Richland County, he
was a son of the late John Lomas Windhorn and Rosa Folk Windhorn. He was
retired from American National Insurance Co., formerly Calhoun Life. He
was a lifelong member and former church council member of Ebenezer
Lutheran Church. He was a former docent with the S.C. State Museum and
Boy Scout Leader. More recently, he was a van driver for Laurel Crest
anddocent at the Columbia Historic Homes. He was an avid gardener and
grew Christmas trees for a many years.
Surviving are his wife, Ann Sease Windhorn of Blythewood; a daughter,
Annette Windhorn York of Falls Church, Va.; a son, Michael Sease Windhorn
of Lancaster; sisters, Mary Lib Teskey and Margaret Floyd, both of
Columbia, Helen Anderson and Rosalind Baucom, both of Blythewood;
brotehrs, John Lomas Windhorn Jr. and Robert E. Windhorn, both of
Blythewood; grandson, Michael S. Windhorn Jr. of Lancaster; nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine
