DARGAN KOHN
Sandy Run - Services for Dargan L. Kohn, 86, will be held Friday at 3
p.m. at Gethsemane Baptist church, St. Matthews, with burial in the
church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Bozard, Leonard Crider,
Harry Sells, Richard Wolfe, Rembert Mack, and Gordon Turner. Memorials
may be made to Gethsemane Baptist Church, Palmetto Health Hospice, and
Swansea Athletic Booster Club, Swansea, SC, c/o Robert Maddox, Jr.
Visitation will be Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Gervais
Street Chapel.
Mr. Kohn died Wednesday, September 15, 1999. Born in Old Fairfield Co.,
he was a son of the ltae John Edward Kohn and Elizabeth Broome Kohn. He
was a Marine Corps/Navy veteran of World War II having served in the
South Pacific, and he was retired from Kimberly Clark Corp. He was a
member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, St. Matthews and the Men's Senior
Sunday School Class.
Surviving are his wife, Georgie Chapman Kohn of Sandy Run; daughter,
Marguerite K. Walker of Sandy Run; son, James D. Kohn of Sandy Run,
sisters, Mildred L. Kohn, Cecile C. Kohn, Josephine K. Littlejohn, all of
Columbia, and Laddice B. Stevenson of Allendale; grandsons, James Brenton
Kohn, Thomas Edward Kohn, and Dargan Richard Williamson; 1 great
granddaughter, Erika N. Kohn; and numerous and nephews. He was
predeceased by brothers, Edward B. and Henry P. Kohn, Sr.; and sisters,
Pauline K. Manning and Marguerite K. Etheredge.
