"Feb. 14 1772 - Yesterday was married in Henrico Co. Mr. William Carter, third son of Mr. John Carter, aged 23, to Mrs. Sarah Ellyson, Relict of Mr. Gerard Ellyson, deced, age eighty-eight, a sprightly old tit with three thousand pounds fortune."
