Use this free open-source tool to update GenoPro Individuals, Families and Unions with revised data.
The updates must be first loaded into a separate .gno, e.g. using the improved Gedcom import tool described in this post. Optionally the IDs of Individual and Family entries can then be copied to a custom tag named _GED_.REFN in both this update .gno and the .gno to be updated. If this is done then these IDs will be used as an additional match criterion. The copying can be done using Table Layout.
Then the GenoMap in the update .gno file should be copied and pasted into a new GenoMap named Updates in the .gno that is to be updated and that .gno selected using the button below
Entries are first matched by name, and then further checks are made on date of birth, date of baptism/christening, date of death, parents and spouse.
This tool will swop details from matching entries in the Updates GenoMap with existing entries. Entries on the Updates GenoMap will be colour-coded to show status and hyperlinks created to indicate matching individuals. The results should checked by opening the updated .gno in GenoPro. The hyperlinks created can be used to easily compare updates. Further runs of the update can be made using the updated .gno after adjustments have been made e.g. manual changes to names where minor variations occur.
Once the results have been checked the Updates GenoMap can be deleted to remove hyperlinks and old data.
