  • I want you to know how distinguished your
    Hattons were. Robert and Mary Middleton's son
    Thomas, b.1674 married Penelope Hatton (and had
    Thomas who married Ann). Penelope was daughter
    of William Hatton and his wife Sarah. William
    Hatton was a son of William Hatton and wife,
    --- Wilkinson, daughter of Rev.Wm.Wilkinson first
    protestant minister in Maryland (from Va.).
    William Hatton was son of Hon. Richard Hatton
    of London and his wife Eleanor. The widow and
    children came to Va. around 1640's and then to
    Maryland with Richard Hatton's brother, Thomas H.
    Thomas Hatton was very prominent in Maryland
    Government in 1650's, being killed in Battle of
    the Severn, Maryland 1655. He was Secretary of
    the Province(Md). ...ere is one error in your posting.
    
    Richard Hatton married Margaret________(not Eleanor) but as you state he
    was the brother of Thomas Hatton who was secretary of Maryland Province.
    Margaret the widow of Richard Hatton remarried Richard Banks after her 1st
    husband died.
