Nimrod Ashcraft

  • Nimrod appeared on the census in 1820 in Morgan Twp., Butler Co., OH,
    Notes from Martha Neal Nimrod Ashcraft was first mentioned on the
    personal propertytax of Georges Twp, Fayette Co,PA in 1800 with one
    horse, He would have onlybeen 14 in 1800.  In 1801 he is listed as a
    laborer with one Cow, 1803 he had a horse and a cow and a year later he
    
    
    
    
    
    
    had two horses and two cows. This sounds like a prosperous and ambitious
    young man. The last record of him in Georges Twp. is in 1804.  Nimrod
    probably went west like the rest of his family. There was a Nimrod
    Ashcraft in Butler Co. Ohio in 1807 and he is listed in the 1806, 1810 ,
    
    
    
    
    
    
    1820 and 1825 tax lists for Butler Co., Ohio. In the 1820 listhe is
    shown to be in the Morgan Twp. and in that list is also an Ephraim (this
    may be one of the older sons of Felix?) Las modified 5 jul 1995.
