Josephine Marie Bearnize (Joey) van Hoogenhout (van Blerk) 
Josephine Marie Bearnize, known as Joey, was born on May 16th, 1856. She died at the age of 90 in 1946.General Notes
Second wife, married in 1907.
Lived in Stone cottage on lower side of Main Road, Lakeside. Known as "Munna".
After husbands death she assisted friends with buying property and money was never recovered. After approx. 1 year she lost all the property to Wolfsohn brothers for over R1000 000. Money was invested through a lawyer who embezzled it all - she died poor. The lawyer was given a five year sentence - the Wolfsohn family became very wealthy - the sons became doctors - Recently, a member of the family - a dentist - commited suicide.
