For twenty-five years John's occupation was Marketing Specialist full time in sales for Rock Island Rail Road, in Chicago.  He left due to the business being closed down.

For fifteen years his occupation was Marketing Specialist full time in sales for Department of Transportation, Illinois, in Springfield, Ill..  He retired.
