  • Daniel was the eighth child of Charles Adams and Sarah Noyes. He married Mariam W. Spinney, of Portsmouth, New Hampshire in 1869. He took a notion to go to sea at an early age and went on his first voyage in the ship Crown Point, bound to Bombay. He went on other voyages for a while, but after he married he left off going to sea. In 1895 he was living in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, at 11 Penhallow Street and has been employed some of the time in the navy yard at Kittery, and some of the time in the carpenter business. They had no living children.
