While ascending for dinner with two other men in the cage in the upcast pit he fell out and fell 30 yards into sump. They had been cleaning the sump and removed the cover from the cage in order to fill a water tank placed in it.
Susanah Davies
Susanah was born in 1849 in Loughor. She died at the age of 69 on February 28th, 1918 in Loughor.
Mr William Davies
William was born in 1854. He died in an accident or as a result of an injury at the age of 41 on April 12th, 1895 in Cae Duke Colliery, Loughor.
Emma Davies
Emma was born on August 4th, 1855 in Loughor. She died at the age of 84 on December 9th, 1939. She was buried in Penuel Baptist Church Chapel, Gorseinon.
Esther Davies
Esther was born in 1857 in Loughor. She died at the age of 10 on September 20th, 1867 in Loughor.
Harriet Davies
Harriet was born in February 1861 in Loughor. She died due to Senile dementia at the age of 82 on June 6th, 1943 in Parc Gwyllt, Coity, Penybont. She was buried in Tabernacle, Glanamman.
