Edward was born on May 19th, 1874 in St Saviours, Surrey. Edward's father was Joseph Topple and his mother was Emma Charlotte King. His paternal grandparents were John Topple and Matilda South; his maternal grandparents were Jonas King and Rebecca Riches. He was the oldest of four children. He had a brother and two sisters. He died, at the age of 77 years, 2 months and 15 days, on August 3rd, 1951 in Bridport, Dorset.
