Susan was born in year 1831 in Trimley St. Mary,Suffolk.  Susan's father was George Topple and her mother was Susan Fisk.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert Topple and Martha Cook; her.  She was the oldest of eight children.  She had two brothers and five sisters, named William, John, Maria, Ann, Elizabeth, Anna and Eliza.
