Lídia's father was János Asbóth and her mother was Lídia Németh.  Her paternal grandparents were Ferenc Asbóth and Eszter Mesterházy. She had five brothers and two sisters, named János, Ferenc, József, János, Sámuel, Eszter and Eszter.  She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
