István was born on February 5th, 1855 in Nagyölbő Vas vm.1   István's father was József Asbóth and his mother was Katalin Kovács.  His paternal grandparents were Pál Asbóth and Éva Simon. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named András, János, Imre, József, János, János, János, Rozália and Erzsébet.  He was the fifth youngest of the ten children.  He died at just 6 days old on February 11th, 1855 in Alsószeleste.2
