István's father was István Asbóth and his mother was Lídia Boda.  His paternal grandparents were István Asbóth and Sára Bogár. He had two brothers and three sisters, named János, Dávid, Lídia, Lídia and Lídia.  He was the third youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 29 on March 28th, 1904 in Kocs.²
