Ferenc's father was György Asbóth and his mother was Borbála Szomorú.  His paternal grandparents were György Asbóth and Anna Milos. He had two brothers and three sisters, named János, Imre, Katalin, Rozália and Terézia.  He was the third oldest of the six children. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Erzsébet, Imre, Erzsébet, Erzsébet and Éva.
