In my immediate family and during my childhood, my siblings and I experienced normal rivalries without much difficulty or trauma. Individual personalities and differences began to surface as we left home and began establishing our indepencence. The most notable on-going relationship conflicts is with my brother Edmund, Jr.(Buddy), who lives in San Diego with his wife Berrie. They seem to think they have just cause to blame our parents for Buddy's involvment with drugs and alcohol and mishandling Berrie's son's death from complications of AIDS.
The second relationship conflict indicated is with my next younger brother, Eric. He suprisingly announced his divorce from Becky to the rest of the family through e-mail! He then avoided any calls or confrontation from those of us who asked why he was making such drastic changes and leaving his wife and 3 kids. We soon found out he had started an internet affair with Melissa Wisecup and has subsequently married her. No one in our immediate family has ever met her in the 7 years they have been married and Eric, who is in the Air Force, has been stationed in Germany for the last 4 years, giving him an additional excuse for not seeing his kids.
GenoMap2 - The Gordon Family
Not much is known about early generations of the Gordon Family as it is my ex-husband's family. We were married June 20, 1976 and divorced June 24,1983; one child, Sierra Noel Gordon. Bob remarried September 1983 to Deborah McIntosh.
All of the information on family relationships came from Bob's parents, Bob and Norma Gordon, and his sisters - Betty, Barbara, Joann, & Trish. There was alot of abuse from Bob (father) to the girls - physical, emotional, psychological, and sexual as indicated on the chart. Bob was the youngest and the only boy making him the "favored" child for a while. But his father eventually subjected him to physical, psychological, and emotional abuse. He was sexually abused by his mother. He was also unaware of the sexual abuse his sisters experienced until they related their stories to him after we were married. Once we divorced, Norma told me her version of all the stories previously told to me by her daughters with the intent of professing the sincerity of the changes she and Bob had made in recognizing their errors in raising their children - this was to reassure me they would NOT abuse Sierra if I allowed her to come visit them.
