Atanase (Tase), known as Picolo, was born on March 24th, 1878 in Mizil and his christening took place there conducted by the priest.  Picolo's father was Vasile Ranetti and his mother was Elena Ioachimescu Ranetti.  His maternal grandparents were Nicolae  Ioachimescu and Maria Ioachimescu. He had a brother and a sister, named George and Atena.  He died at the age of 69 on October 25th, 1947.
