Yosef was born in 1941.  Yosef's father was Mordechai Zisman and her mother was Hadasa Schpatz.  Her maternal grandparents were  Menachem Mendel Schpatz and  Scheindel Yafa Reif.  She is the oldest of three children.  She has a brother and a sister, named Yehoshua and Malka.
